Joy of Gymnastics
Sun Lahti is a major gymnastics event that will be arranged 6-9 June 2013 in the city of Lahti, southern Finland. 15 000 gymnasts of all ages and all skill levels are expected to participate in Sun Lahti.
Long tradition
Finnish Gymnastics Federation has a long tradition in hosting major gymnastics events. The first major event was organised already in 1894. Previous event took place in the city of Tampere in 2006.
4 days – variety of activities
During four days, gymnasts have the opportunity to experience an unforgetable event and enjoy gymnastics.
The event will include:
- city performances (2 stages)
- workshops
- educational forums
- competitions for children
- gala performances in the evening
- activities
- world championships in aesthetic group gymnastics
Sun Lahti will begin with a festive parade and an opening ceremony on Thursday. The closing ceremony on Sunday will include large group performances with thousands of gymnasts.
Participation
Gather a team of gymnasts and register to Sun Lahti – major gymnastics event. Participation card includes the right to participate in the event, a chance to perform and also local transportation, event guide and an event merchandise. Participants can also enjoy gymnastics shows and workshops and evening entertainment.
Discounts for tickets to evening galas and World Championships in Aesthetic Group Gymnastics are available to Sun Lahti participants.
Price
The price of the participant card varies according to the age of the participant.

Price does not include accommodation or meals. They can be bought separately.
Accommodation options
Both school accommodation and hotel accommodation is available. Accommodation includes breakfast.
School accommodation does not include matresses or any other sleeping equipment. The price for three nights of school accommodation (Thu-Sun) is 40 euros per person. Please contact the office if you need more nights.

Lunch and dinner
Participants can purchase lunch and dinner vouchers beforehand. They are sold in packages of three lunches and three dinners. The lunch and dinner voucher package costs

Since Lahti is quite a small city and restaurant capasity is limited, it is advisable to purchase the meal vouchers from the event organisers.
The lunch and dinner are served in the main event area.
Registration
Registration to the event is done per club. The deadline for registration is 15th December 2012. There will be an internet form to fill in. School accommodation and lunch&dinner tickets are reserved together with the registration.
City of Lahti
Situated on a lake shore, the city of Lahti is a well-known sports city with world class facilities. Lahti occupies an ideal logistic location 1 hour from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. With good connections by road, rail or air, Lahti is easy to reach. The main venue for Sun Lahti, the Lahti Sports Centre is within walking distance from downtown area.
